What is the best thing about being a Firefighter?
Helping your fellow citizens.

Why did you join the department?
Wallingford Fire Department Assistant Chief Charlie Gauthier made me do it. after that I got bit by the bug and I have been involved with the fire service ever since.

What was the most memorable incident you have been involved in?
Wallingford Fire Department firefighters helping a local infant out who had brain cancer by raising funds for her parents to be able travel and take time off from work to be with thier child. that was pretty emotional. that was about 11 years ago. and today being a father to twin toddler boys. makes that experiance really special.

What goals do you have for yourself?
Never stop learning. never become complacent. I have an associates degree in fire science and still I cant get enough training and other classes in. thats the best advice I can give right their. you will never know it all. and if you think you do. you are going to get hurt. train and take classes as often as you possibly can.

What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a firefighter?
Its a great profession. respect your department, officers, and fellow firefighters. learn as much as you can. never be complacent. and when your a rookie, keep your ears and eyes open. and your mouth shut. and learn. and do not get wrapped up in dept politics.
