Catskill Fire drills with new Rescue Jacks
Members of the Catskill Fire Dept. had a chance to drill with the new Junkyard Dog Rescue Jacks Sunday April 27, 2008. The drill took place at a local junkyard within Catskill. Members also had a chance to use all the Holmatro extrication equipment that is on Rescue 3-16.
The rescue jacks are not only for auto accidents but can be used during structure fires as well as building collapses. The jacks were purchased after a year long study on different rescue jacks. After the study was completed by the Officers and members of the Department it was determined that the Junkyard Dog Rescue Jacks were the easiest and the lightest to use. The jacks are kept on Rescue 3-16 with all the other extrication equipment. Pictures
