Buskirk Covered bridge is now open to traffic

On Friday April 1,2005 at 3:30 pm the Buskirk Covered Bridge opened for traffic for the first time since it's closing in August of 2002. The first vehicle to cross the new reconstructed bridge was Buskirk FD's 2004 Pierce Engine - Tanker. The bridge is posted @ 12 tons,but the FD was a waiver to run their large trucks over the bridge. A new steel bridge is now in the early planning stages to be placed downstream of the current bridge,which will become a museum.More News
