$7000.00 Donation
Posted: October 16th, 2006 :: Bull Shoals Volunteer Fire Department
Bull Shoals Volunteer Fire Department had recently received a $7000.00 donation, from Tom and Jane Rezza, the couple had asked that we use the money to purchase a thermal imaging unit, Jane had scene an article about the units and asked if the fire dept. had one, we had told her that we have sent in application for grants with no luck of receiving one. They had asked us to come by and pick up the donation the following day. By us having the thermal imaging camera it will help in the process of finding children and adults that might get scared in the event of a fire and hide under beds, in closets, and other areas that might make it difficult in finding someone in the smoke filled room. This device will be able to see through the smoke! It picks up the heat given off by a person’s body, and shows an inferred picture to the firefighter carrying the device. This will also aid firefighters in the clean-up part of the fire when we trying to smother out the hot spots so there is no need to be called back to a fire for rekindle of the fire, this will also help in less damage done to the owners home then needs to be. We are very fortunate for people like the Rezza's that feel the need to help better our department and we all give our utmost respect and gratitude. Thank you, BSVFD
