Deputy in hospital following crash

SNOW HILL - Authorities say a deputy is in the hospital after crashing
during a high speed chase. It happened around 9 a.m. on Highway 258 just north of Snow Hill. Deputies say an officer was chasing a robbery
suspect. During the pursuit a car pulled out into the lane of the
deputy. He swerved out of the way and ran off the road, hitting a tree.
The deputy is at Pitt County Memorial Hospital with a broken hip.
Meantime, the suspect is still on the run. If you know anything about
