Keeping up with what’s happening within the Milton Fire and Rescue Department just got a little bit easier.

Recently, the department unveiled a new website that offers visitors a variety of information about the volunteer unit. From information about personnel and equipment to a calendar of upcoming events, www.miltonfireandrescue.org has it.

Among the information available on the site is a photo gallery that offers a glimpse into the emergency calls answered by the department, as well as the group’s fundraising and community service activities. Also included is information on joining the department or their Explorers program, which is geared toward individuals under the age of 18 who might be interested in a firefighting career.

Scanner frequencies for area agencies, as well as a log of calls answered by the department are also available with the click of a mouse.

Assistant Chief Jason Long said the site is still a work in progress, but believes local residents will appreciate the information and features already available.

“There’s still more to add, but people can find a lot of information on here already,” he said.
