No injuries, but a house was destroyed by a fire last night in the Gamaliel area.
One-O-One Gamaliel Fire Chief Rob Griffith said the two-story wood structure at 586 Redhawk Lane was fully involved when the first fire units arrived on the scene about 8:30 last night. The report, which did not identify the home owner, indicated the fire apparently started around a wood burning stove. He said the fire, which was threatening an outbuilding, was brought under control within an hour.
Assisting the 101 Gamaliel Fire Department were fire units and personnel from North East Lakeside, Henderson and Bakersfield.
