David M. Reynolds
Service: 43 Years
Chief Reynolds has been Chief since 1981. A 35 year member of the department, Chief Reynolds has guided the department through it's busiest and most expansive years. During his tenure, all the apparatus has been completely updated. This years most recent addition are "2" American LaFrance "Eagle" pumpers. Another recent accomplishment is the NYS Service Awards program. The Village of New Hartford just last month passed the program where-by members will now receive monthly payments at entitlement age (65). The awards will be $10 for every year the member attained the minimum points (50) required by the program. Members can receive up to 40 yrs or $400/month. The cost to the taxpayer is minimal with the highest estimated cost of $2.50 per year, per househould. Chief Reynolds credits much of the good fiscal status of the Fire Budget to the Village Board and Village Treasurer Earl Cunningham in particular.
