What is the best thing about being a Firefighter?
I love the sense of pride that I get from knowing that I am part of a heroic team of brave men and women who put all we have on the line each and everyday to protect the communities that we are sworn to protect.

Why did you join the department?
So that I could give something back to the community.

What was the most memorable incident you have been involved in?
Structure Fire on Route 7 in Pownal January of 2008. I responded directly behind the first arriving engine and wasamong the last off that scene. What makes it especially memorable was the fact that not even a week before that fire occurred, during a drill night we discussed the absolute worst case scenario's as to what we could possibly come across in a residential basement...everything we discussed was in that basement!

What goals do you have for yourself?
To complete my FF1 unit and persure this as a full-time occupation.

What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a firefighter?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone of the guys in any firehouse are more than happy to show you anything that you want to know.
