What is the best thing about being a Firefighter?
giving back to my community and not expecting even a "thank you" in return

Why did you join the department?
i was born into it. my dad has been in fire service for 20 years and has been in my blood for as long as i can remember.

What was the most memorable incident you have been involved in?
we were dispatched to a man caught in a grain auger. when i arrived, the man's leg was caught in the auger of a grain elevator all the way up to his waist. we were unfortunately able to free him in time to allow the Medivac to take him to trauma center and he passed away on scene.

What goals do you have for yourself?
to be the best firefighter/emt that i can be and to "hang it up" when i start doing the job for the wrong reasons

What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a firefighter?
this is not an easy job. you will see things that most people don't see. it can and will get stressful and emotional at points. it is the greatest job i have ever had and would not trade it for the world. train hard and train smart.
